Cop 'Dragged' By Tesla During Traffic Stop In Philly: Authorities

A police officer was treated for injuries after being dragged along the road by a Tesla during a traffic stop in Philadelphia, authorities told Daily Voice.

It happened in Wissinoming late on Monday, July 10, the department said. 

The officer had stopped the Tesla on the 5400 block of Charles Street around 9:40 p.m. and was conducting a "vehicle investigation" when the driver hauled off, according to police. 

The officer was "dragging along" before being "thrown from the vehicle," and was treated for upper- and lower-body injuries at Jefferson Frankford Hospital, the department said. 

The officer has since been released, they added. 

6abc reports that the vehicle has since been located and that an arrest warrant has been issued for the driver.
